Hello friends! What are your plans this weekend? What about the restaurants you’ll be going to?
Are you stuck on where to go? Well look no further!
I was introduced to two new restaurants in Downtown Phoenix (I promise I will branch out).
I couldn’t say which one was my favorite one, but I’ll let you guys decide!
For starters, unfortunately I was unable to get many pictures of the restaurant.
Walking into the restaurant, I felt like I was at my grandma’s kitchen lol. Homemade food on the stove was ready to serve and man, was it delicious!
I ordered the shredded beef burrito and Geraldine ordered the carnitas (pork) burrito.
As you can see, the burritos were huge! But that didn’t stop Geraldine from finishing her food lol. I was unable to finish mine, so I took it home.
Along with the burrito, the server gave us chips and salsa. The salsa, in my opinion, was so freaking good and it wasn’t spicy at all. Usually, when the salsa isn’t spicy, it’s kind of disappointing, but this salsa had such a delicious flavor to it.
The restaurant itself was decorated with the loteria theme. If you don’t know what that ‘loteria’ is, then click here. (I really hope you didn’t have to click on the link lol)
Other than burritos, they do serve tacos, quesadillas and other dishes. But of course, they are mostly known for their burritos.
As I was eating my food, the owner (he’s there I believe everyday) would talk to every person that walked in. He had a smile and a positive attitude. To me, that really showed that he cared for his business and he seemed to enjoy it.
I believe every successful owner should have this type of attitude in order for customers to connect with you and trust you.
When you get a chance, like their Facebook page!
Walking into this kitchen/bakery gave me the whole feel-good vibes. It was definitely a cozy spot and I would not mind spending my Saturday mornings there.
I ordered their turkey club sandwich and Geraldine ordered the Cuban sandwich. (she follows me everywhere, haha jk)
Both were so so so delicious! I was kind of upset at the fact we had to rush to eat our food and once again Geraldine finished her food, but I took half of mine home.
We’re always rushing during lunch time because we have one hour, so it’s best to say that we might be going in the evenings/weekends.
We sat outside (we keep thinking it’s fall/winter) and took a couple of pictures.
Like I mentioned, it is somewhere that you can work on your homework or hangout with a group of friends.
Their kitchen is open, so you can definitely see them prepare your food.
Other than sandwiches, they have salads, delicious baked goods (hello croissants) breakfast, and more!
Oh and they have COFFEE! I ordered the iced Toddy with vanilla and it was smooth and creamy. I am someone that loves their coffee sweet, so the fact that it didn’t have an overpowering taste was perfect.
Don’t get my wrong, I do love some extra shots in my coffee, but I need the sweet part to balance it out lol.
They have been opened since 2013 and totally make their food from scratch. Although the hours are from 7am to 3pm Monday through Saturday, it is definitely going to make your breakfast/lunch worthwhile!
Give them a follow on their Instagram.
Have you tried either of these local restaurants? Which one is your favorite? (you’ll have to try them before you choose, trust me!)
