Traveling to other cities within the state you are from is exciting to say the least. For those who enjoy finding ‘hole in the walls’ (strange saying, right?) or even popular local businesses; it’s not enough just shopping or eating there. Those types of businesses need to be shown off for the world to see!
So, I recently traveled to Flagstaff with my mom and aunt (we drove through Sedona). On our way there, I was already set on visiting a local restaurant and a coffee shop. I will create a separate post about the restaurant we went to.
What is the name of the coffee shop and where is it located? I need information!
The coffeehouse is called Macy’s and it is located on the south side of Flagstaff. Surrounding their coffee shop are also other local businesses, like a brewery and a hair salon. There is a huge (or ‘yuge’ whichever you prefer) parking lot in the center of these businesses, which makes it easier to explore!
Did someone mention vegetarian?
I know, everyone is raving about being healthy and what not. Seriously, the food they have looks and smells amazing. Although I had already eaten before I arrived I did catch a glimpse of what other’s were ordering.
Their menu ranges from cage-free eggs to burgers to delicious coffees and teas. They also serve a wide range of salads and sandwiches, so be prepared to be overwhelmed! I seriously felt overwhelmed from their wide range of menu of coffee selections. They have over 15 types of ways they make their coffee and specialty drinks.
I ordered the Macy’s Special which consisted of latte mixed with hot cocoa. (I need to go back soon to order it again, YUM!). My mom ordered the Cafe Mocha made of espresso chocolate and steamed milk. My aunt ordered the Cappuccino Royal made of coffee topped with chocolate and whipped cream.
Okay, their food sounds delicious but do they give back to their community?
Well let me tell you. Other than their vintage decor from inside and out, they are loved by their community for giving back to their community. They host children’s poetry reading to Monday night chess club. If that’s not enough, they also donate pastries to nearby shelters!
Overall, Macy’s is a coffee shop that you HAVE to stop by at least once in your lifetime. I also recommend to not only stop by, but relax and drink your coffee. They design your coffee so beautifully and if you are REALLY craving coffee, then order either the medium or large (trust me on this).
