Welcome to December! It’s finally beginning to feel like winter in Phoenix, so I’m ready to bring out my jackets and sweats.
I know I’ve been talking about many local businesses in downtown Phoenix, so I went to Tempe this past weekend and had some delicious food at Salut Kitchen Bar.
Where is it located?
1435 East University Drive, Tempe, AZ 85281; literally next to Arizona State University.
It’s literally in the plaza right after the Quality Inn. (Don’t have your boyfriend/husband give you directions or else you’ll end up in the hotel parking lot lol)
I heard that two ASU students started the business?
That’s correct! Well, technically they are both graduates since ’03 and ’05. Anastasios Tirkas and David Freeman are co-owners of the restaurant. They have a passion for food and making sure others are enjoying themselves.
What kind of food is served?
It’s a mix of Mediterranean and American cuisine. Which includes tapas, benedicts, salads, pesto alfredo and more! Aaron had a waffle (delicious) and, biscuits and gravy. I had the florentine and french fries.
By the way, there’s 1c refills of bottomless mimosas on Saturday’s and Sunday’s 9:30AM to 2PM. (you’re welcome)
How is the atmosphere?
You can sit inside or outside in the patio and we chose to sit outside because the weather has been amazing. I can only imagine how it looks at night outside because they have a really cute set-up outside with lights hanging!
This is a great place for a date night or having brunch with the girls! Our waiter was extremely patient and informative, so the customer service was definitely a 10/10.
If you’re ever in the Tempe area, stop by and enjoy some hangover fries or even some beer to watch the football game!
